A foreign university has decided to donate 60,000 Islamic books to help establish libraries in Islamic centers throughout the Maldives.
Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, revealed that a university from a friendly nation has committed to providing books for Islamic Centers in Dhidhdhoo, Ungoofaaru, Thinadhoo, and Addu, as well as other Islamic libraries currently being established across the atolls.
Dr. Shaheem further noted that work on setting up libraries in the already operational centers will begin very soon. The establishment of Islamic libraries across the country is one of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s key presidential pledges.
Meanwhile, opening of the Islamic library at the Salman Mosque in Malé is progressing rapidly, demonstrating the government’s dedication to enhancing access to Islamic knowledge and education.
