Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed met with Professor Osman Bakar, Rector of the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), to reaffirm and further strengthen the longstanding partnership between the university and the Maldives.
During the meeting, Minister Shaheem expressed heartfelt appreciation for the university’s continued support and its significant role in promoting Islamic education. He praised IIUM as a model institution for nurturing Islamic scholarship and commended the Maldivian graduates of IIUM, many of whom are now making valuable contributions to the nation and the Islamic faith.
The discussions also focused on exploring new avenues of collaboration between the Ministry and the university, with an emphasis on enhancing academic exchange, research, and capacity-building initiatives.
