The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has once again planned a series of activities to mark this year’s Ramadan, continuing its tradition of promoting Islamic values and devotion among the Maldivian public. These programs aim to raise awareness, encourage deeper commitment to fasting, and provide authentic Islamic knowledge to the community.
In preparation for the holy month, two major initiatives have been arranged: a workshop titled Mindful Ramadan and a prominent religious lecture called Marhaba Ramadan. The Marhaba Ramadan lecture is set to take place at Male' Artificial Beach, which drew significant public interest last year.
Additionally, while eight Ihya Forums will be held in Male' during Ramadan, the Ministry has expanded its reach by organizing these forums in seven other cities and islands this year. These locations were selected based on the best proposals submitted by local councils in coordination with the Ministry.
To foster religious awareness among the younger generation, six Ihya Forums specifically for school students will also be held. Alongside these forums, weekly outreach programs will take place every Saturday in Male' during Ramadan. These will include children’s sports activities, religious counseling, and stalls offering copies of the Quran and other Islamic literature.
As in previous years, Asr lectures will be conducted after the Asr prayer in Male', providing a space for religious reflection and learning.
Moreover, the Ministry’s Islamic Studio is preparing to broadcast a series of religious programs through its social media platforms, continuing its efforts to educate the public and raise awareness. These programs will include both returning initiatives from last year and entirely new content.
These activities highlight the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to fostering spiritual growth and community engagement during Ramadan, making it a truly special time for reflection and devotion.
