President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu announced the launch of a significant initiative titled "Elevating Prayer," aimed at familiarizing the Maldivian society with the importance of the five daily prayers. Recognizing prayer as a fundamental act of worship that protects individuals from evil and as one of the core pillars of Islam, the project seeks to deepen the nation’s spiritual connection.
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs is currently developing the strategic plan for the project, which will be implemented across various regions of the country with high priority throughout the year. The initiative’s goal is to enhance public awareness and participation in daily prayers, fostering a stronger sense of religious devotion.
In his statement, the President also highlighted the unparalleled leadership of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), acknowledging him as the greatest leader the world has ever known. This recognition, he noted, is not only a divine truth but also widely accepted by both Muslims and non-Muslims, with numerous books and studies dedicated to this subject. To build on this, the President introduced the "Islamic Leadership Management" program, which will target key sectors and organizations in the country. The program aims to teach and raise awareness about the leadership qualities rooted in Islamic teachings, providing valuable insights into ethical and effective leadership.
Through these initiatives, the government seeks to promote both spiritual and leadership development within Maldivian society, reinforcing the nation’s commitment to its religious and moral values.
