The Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, has announced that the recent signing of 14 key agreements will significantly advance the Islamic sector in the Maldives. The projects are part of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s ongoing efforts to implement his policies in line with the needs and wishes of the people.
Speaking at a ceremony held at the Islamic Center’s conference hall, Minister Dr. Shaheem emphasized that these projects are a continuation of President Muizzu’s commitment to improving the Islamic sector. He noted that the President is personally involved in monitoring these initiatives to ensure their success.
The signed agreements include the construction of mosques, Quran centers, and an Islamic center across various islands. Minister Dr. Shaheem revealed that the new mosques would be equipped with modern facilities, including air-conditioning, solar panels, and will offer Quran classes upon completion. The mosques will also feature innovative designs suited to the Maldivian environment, providing comfortable spaces for prayer and worship.
Minister Dr. Shaheem also took the opportunity to thank the company leaders and their teams for their cooperation and support in bringing these projects to fruition.
The 14 projects encompass the construction of mosques on 11 islands, Quran center branches on 2 islands, and an Islamic center on one island, marking a significant step forward in the development of the Islamic sector under President Muizzu’s administration.
