Construction work has officially begun on the new mosque at the site of Masjid Yusuf Al Barbari.
This mosque, being built through a partnership between the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and a private benefactor, will be a three-story structure with the capacity to accommodate 1,400 individuals for prayer.
Several mosque construction projects are currently underway across Malé and other parts of the Maldives, all made possible through collaborations between private entities and the Ministry. In this context, Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, the Minister of Islamic Affairs, announced that construction of the new mosque on the Maafannu Boduge land will begin after Ramadan
